- New iPod and iPod nano Disassembled - Lionel - 16:07:04

iFixit published photo of the disassembling procedure of the new iPod nano and iPod Classic

AS illustrated by the photo, the motherboard is getting really smaller, while most of the space in the enclosure is taken by the battery.

For the iPod Classic, one can see the new CE-ATA port on the 1.8" Toshiba HD. The battery is also taking almost place.

- iTunes 7.4.1: Block Ringtones Creator - Lionel - 16:02:34

Couple of hours after the release of iTunes 7.4, Apple announced iTunes 7.4.1 with no further information than those provided for the previous version. We suspect this update to prevent the procedure preventing users to easily generate ringtones from their music tracks in iTunes. One only needed to duplicated the file, then rename its extension from .m4a to .m4r. Then, you could synchronize your iPhone, and ringtones will be accepted.
Indeed, after installing iTunes 7.4.1, such trick does not work anymore; and we suspect Apple to act on purpose to limit such procedure for creating ringtones, in order to keep selling ringtones. We would be interested to know according to EU regulations, how a company could prevent a user to create a ringtone from a music track purchased legally. If a lawyer read those lines, he/she can drop me an email (linathael at macbidouille dot com)

- iPhone 3G in Germany on November 12th? - Lionel - 15:52:18

An anonymous reader sent us this image supposed to be one of the ads of the advertising campaign for the introduction of the iPhone in Germany by T-Mobile. We could not confirm this information from our internal sources, or correlated we what we know from the similar campaign from Orange in France. So to take with a grain of salt:

Indicate prices are indeed those expected, especially if the iPhone is going to be a 3G+-compatible model. So, info or hoax (probably)?
